Gin Strawberry Smash

Sharing is caring!

A Wimbledon inspired variation on the contemporary classic Gin Basil Smash!

Prep Time 3 minutes
Servings 1

  • 50 ml gin Note: I don't specify a specific gin. You can use your fruity infused gins for this one.
  • 10 ml fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 15 ml simple syrup
  • 10-12 small sweet strawberries

  1. Muddle the strawberries in a shaker with the lemon juice.

  2. You may want to blitz the strawberries in a mini electric processor first to help break them up. Unless you are feeling masochistic of course. Then go ahead with the muddling old school style.

  3. Add the gin and simple syrup to the shaker.

  4. Add ice and shake.

  5. Strain through a fine sieve into a highball glass filled with ice.

  6. Garnish with mint, strawberries, or whatever takes your fancy.

Recipe Notes

Strawberries and Wimbledon go hand in hand. As soon as the strawberry season is in then tennis is on the telly and us Brits are glued to our screens. And what could be more fitting for watching Wimbledon than with a chilled gin in hand? Even better a gin that features strawberries? I decided to try substituting basil in the contemporary classic Gin Basil Smash with the glistening red summer fruits. The taste was surprisinglyย good. A real taste of summer. Try it. I think you'll like it.
