A modern classic ~ the signature cocktail of celebrated bartender Salvatore Calabrese, The Maestro
One morning in 1996 while enjoying his toast and marmalade at breakfast it struck Salvatore Calabrese that marmalade would make a delicious addition to a cocktail. At the time he was working at the Library Bar at the Lanesborough Hotel in London.
The Breakfast Martini is in good company. Harry Craddock’s 1930, The Savoy Cocktail Book also mentions a marmalade cocktail. And Salvatore has inspired other bartenders to create their own sweet concoctions based on preserves.
The Breakfast Martini is a sweet cocktail with a sharp edge from the lemon. Utterly delectable and good at any time of the day.
- 50ml / 1.66oz London Dry Gin
- 15ml / 0.5oz triple sec
- 15ml / 0.5oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 5ml / 1 bar spoon of orange marmalade

A twist of orange peel and a triangle of toast if you want to impress!
